Aït Ammar Iron Ore Project

The Aït Ammar Iron Ore Project, operated by Compagnie Marocaine Minière de Fer (CMMF) and owned by Artemis MM Resources London Ltd, is one of Morocco’s most significant iron ore redevelopment initiatives. Located near Oued Zem in central Morocco, approximately 175 kilometers from Casablanca, the project lies within a historically productive iron-bearing district that has been recognized for its high mineral potential and strategic position within the country’s industrial heartland.

The deposit is hosted within metamorphosed Ordovician oolitic formations of the Hercynian massif, containing extensive magnetite and hematite horizons with strong beneficiation potential. Advanced metallurgical and pilot-scale testing conducted in collaboration with ONHYM, SGS, and Eriez has confirmed the ability to produce a premium 65% Fe concentrate, aligning with the specifications required by high-end steel producers

Aït Ammar is strategically located in proximity to Morocco’s state-of-the-art national infrastructure, including newly built highways, power networks, and rail connections linking the mine to major industrial centers and Atlantic export terminals such as Jorf Lasfar and Casablanca. This connectivity provides a distinct logistical advantage, allowing efficient transport of high-grade concentrate to European and international markets.

Artemis’ development plan focuses on transforming Aït Ammar into a modern, environmentally responsible mining and processing operation, integrating advanced beneficiation technologies, strict water management, and international ESG standards. The project also plays a key socio-economic role by supporting regional employment, infrastructure development, and the transfer of technical expertise to local communities.
